The First Coast communities sure know how to do it up this time of year. Thanks to the great historical nature of Jacksonville and the surrounding communities, Halloween can be a lot of fun in town. It seems like every neighborhood offers some sort of activity. Between haunted grave yard tours led by old-timey actors and family festivals that celebrate all there is about fall, there are events in town for people of all ages.

If you’ve recently purchased a property sale in Jacksonville, Halloween is the perfect time to get outside and get to know your neighbors.

As you prepare for October activities and Halloween, make sure you take steps to stay safe. This is a great time of year to get to know your neighbors and have fun with other locals. We encourage you to get outside and make the most of the great weather that graces Jacksonville this time of year.

Here are a few of the top events going on in town to celebrate Halloween:

  • Dogtoberfest: Dress up your pooch and head over to metropolitan park for this fun family-friendly event. All proceeds benefit First Coast No More Homeless Pets.
  • Spooktakular: If you’d rather visit larger animals than dress up your own, then head to the Jacksonville zoo to enjoy the area all done up in fall festive spirits.
  • Pumpkin Picking: Head over to Hidden Fields for a day of pumpkin picking that will really bring you back in time. This event features hay rides, scarecrows, smores and of course, pumpkins.

Many local churches throughout Jacksonville will have trunk or treating events going on the evening of Halloween to help keep kids off the streets and to provide you with a safe place where you can rest assured and let the kids enjoy Halloween in a supervised setting.
