Northside

The Northside boasts extensive riverfront and waterfront areas along the St. Johns River and the Trout River. It is home to several large parks and nature preserves.  A popular destination for beachgoers, bird watchers, and campers, Huguenot Memorial Park features sandy beaches, picnic areas, and a campground. Another popular area, Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve, encompasses over 46,000 acres.  This preserve offers a variety of recreational activities, historical sites, and natural beauty.

Economic zones include the Cecil Commerce Center. A major hub for business and industry, located on the site of the former Naval Air Station Cecil Field. It includes logistics, manufacturing, and aviation-related businesses. In addition, the Northside’s proximity to the Port of Jacksonville supports a significant portion of the area’s economy, particularly in shipping, logistics, and related industries.  

The Northside offers a wide range of housing options, from suburban neighborhoods with single-family homes to rural properties with larger lots.
