RIVERSIDE AND AVONDALE

Riverside features a mix of architectural styles, including Victorian, Colonial Revival, and Craftsman bungalows. Much of Riverside is designated as a historic district, ensuring that the character of the neighborhood is maintained.  The area offers two of Jacksonville’s beloved leisure venues:  The Riverside Art Mart, held every Saturday under the Fuller Warren Bridge, it showcases local artists, live music, farmers, and food vendors, and Memorial Park, a beautifully landscaped park along the St. Johns River featuring the iconic “Life” sculpture. Both are central spots for community events.

Avondale is known for its Mediterranean Revival and Tudor-style homes, adding to the neighborhood’s unique aesthetic. Like Riverside, Avondale also has a designated historic district to preserve its architectural heritage. Avondale is home to several small parks and green spaces, such as Boone Park and Willowbranch Park, which provide recreation and enhance the neighborhood’s green appeal. 

The Shoppes of Avondale offers a variety of upscale boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. The tree-lined streets and historic buildings create a pleasant and walkable environment. Residents and visitors alike can appreciate the unique character and dynamic spirit of Riverside and Avondale.
